In the old days, a good photographer needed a professional photo camera, extensive technical knowledge and, most importantly, a keen eye for photographic composition.

Today, things are different. The iPhone you hold in your hands contains an excellent camera, its ultra-fast processors will automatically do most of the technical work for you, and Camera Aurea will be your artistic photographic eye!

Camera Aurea is an app that can assist you with the composition of the pictures you take with your iPhone. It will help you, in a simple way, to take more attractive photographs, with a balanced, harmonious and captivating layout. In order to accomplish this, it makes extensive use of the 'Golden Ratio'.

Despite its rational, mathematical definition, the Golden Ratio is still largely covered in mystery. It has existed longer than mankind, and you will find it in nature, architecture, and even in modern design. The Golden Ratio was used by Leonardo da Vinci to create his masterpiece 'The Last Supper' and by Michelangelo when he painted the ceilings of the Sistine Chapel in Vatican City. The Golden Ratio has been considered the secret behind many works of art, for thousands of years. For reasons that have never been quite understood, it seems to strongly appeal to our senses, and has been appreciated so much that 'beauty standards' have been based on it.

Camera Aurea provides you with a collection of viewfinder templates, based on the Golden Ratio. The templates are suited for nature, architecture, portrait and generic photography, and will help you find the perfect photographic composition. With this app, every picture you take can be composed with a professional, balanced and captivating layout, as if they were taken by a highly artistic photographer with years of experience.
